A pleasure trip, not a habit

No money rides on anything here. Habits can still form, so this is how we deal with them.

If gambling is doing you harm right now, the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133 at any hour, day or night, or you can chat online with GamCare.

Why a free railway still checks your age

Social casino games share the look, sound and pace of real gambling. Velvet Rail Club is intended only for adults over the legal gambling age and is not aimed at anyone under 18. We check age twice: on the banner you see when you arrive, and with a tick when you open your account.

Promises we keep

  • Offer or promote real-money gambling.
  • Offer prizes of real-world value.
  • Sell coins at a ticket office, or add in-app purchases.
  • Route you to gambling operators or affiliates.
  • Lean on countdowns or streaks to pull you back.

A word of caution

A free game can be set up to feel generous, and it refills your balance at no cost. Real-money games do neither. A good run here tells you nothing about how you would fare with money at stake.

Signals to watch for

  • Staying on far past the stop you planned.
  • Feeling irritable when you stop.
  • Playing to escape a mood.
  • Play is eating into sleep, work or time with people.
  • You find yourself searching the timetable for a real-money version.

Keeping your hand on the brake

  • Set your journey time before the first spin.
  • Leave autoplay off.
  • Take regular breaks.
  • Clearing this site’s data resets your whole journey; blocking the site in your device settings ends it for good, if that is what you want.

Free social casino play only: no real-money gambling travels on this line.

Only adults aged 18 or over may use Velvet Rail Club. All play runs on virtual coins of no monetary value, and they cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged. Nowhere on the line is there a coin shop or a payment page, no prize of real-world value is on offer, and a good run here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
